How Do Semaglutide and Tirzepatide Work for Weight Loss?
Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are once-weekly injections that significantly suppress your appetite, assisting you in losing weight. They work by increasing the production of insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas that helps regulate blood sugar.
Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are once-weekly injections that suppress your appetite significantly. They belong to a class of medications known as GLP-1 receptor agonists. They were first used as diabetes medications but have since been FDA-approved to help with chronic weight management and to help individuals lose weight. These medications work by increasing the production of insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas that helps regulate blood sugar. They are typically injected into the upper arm, thigh, or stomach.
On average, patients have lost 15% of their body weight through weight loss injections and a diet and exercise program.
These solutions improve body composition by reducing excess body fat, including abdominal fat, and increasing the proportion of lean body mass and the amount of weight someone carries that is not body fat. The more body weight a patient loses, the greater the improvement in body composition. Many patients can enjoy a healthy weight following their Semaglutide or Tirzepatide treatment.
